Abu Ramadan withdraws suit against EC

Former PNC National Organiser Abu Ramadan has withdrawn his suit against the electoral commission over the voters’ register.

Ramadan and one other want the Supreme Court to nullify the 2012 national voters’ register and to compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile a new one.

They contend that the current register contains names of unqualified persons which is inconsistent with the constitution.

However, their lawyer, Nana Asante Bediako was today granted a plea by the court to withdraw the writ and re-file at a later date with new details.
