Aboagye confirmed by Akuapem North Assembly

Akropong-Akuapem (E/R), July 21, GNA- The Akuapen North District Assembly on Thursday confirmed the President’s nominee, Mr Edward Adu Aboagye as the District Chief Executive by a vote of 54 votes to 7 at a special meeting of the Assembly at Akropong-Akuapem.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Aboagye, 46, promised to run an open administration and to ensure the operations of the various sub-committees of the District Assembly.

He said if his administration would succeed in achieving the required development of the district, it would require the support and co-operation of all members of the assembly, chiefs, opinion leaders and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working in the district. Earlier, the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah said the work of the District Chief Executive could be done by a lot of people but only one could be appointed at a time. The out-going District Chief Executive, Dr. (Mrs) Eugenia Danquah Quist thanked all those who supported her during her tenure of office and assured the incoming DCE of her preparedness to offer him all the necessary support that he would request from her.
