Abetifi constituency NPP elects new executive

Abetifi (E/R), Oct. 12, GNA – The Presiding Member of the Kwahu South District Assembly, Lt. Col. (rtd) Alexander Owusu Dwamena, had been elected as the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party of Abetifi constituency at a delegates’ conference at Abetifi on Tuesday. He polled 60 votes to beat the incumbent, W.O. 1, (rtd) Kwame Osei’s 43 votes, while Mr Fred Osei Addo and Mr Peter Boama Danso defeated Mr Sampson Obiri Frempong and Mr Alfred Dankwah, to become the First and Second Vice Chairman respectively.

The incumbent secretary, Mr Anthony Boye Akowuah retained his post, beating Nana Abankwa Kissi, while the women organizer went to Madam Victoria Dedaah Sackey.

Addressing the conference after the election, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Nana Adi Ankamah, advised them to forget the past rivalry, and unite to educate the people at the grassroots to understand government policies to win the 2008 election. He appealed to Ghanaians to embrace government’s polices since they were meant to improve their living standards.

The Kwahu South District Chief Executive, Nana Kofi Onwona Asante, urged the delegates to ensure that peace thrived in the party to attract more people to join and also enhance community development in the district.
