A vote for NDC will be “a big mistake”- Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to be guided by the unequaled track record of the last New Patriotic Party (NPP) government when casting their ballots on December 7.

The former president said it was imperative for electorates to vote for a team-led leadership saying; Nana Akufo-Addo has the best team to transform Ghana.

He was speaking at the out-dooring ceremony of the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Cape Coast South constituency, Alfred Thompson.

“The one thing Ghana must have to transform itself quickly is leadership. If we say leadership, it’s not just about one person. It is not just the presidential candidate alone. Then they will go and bring a party’s presidential candidate and describe him as young and handsome; if you do that you will make a big mistake,” Mr. Kufuor said.

He emphasized that Ghana needed someone with a team to manage the affairs of the country…“We need a leader with a team and there is no party in Ghana that will match up to the NPP. So if Ghanaians want to progress, this year’s election, vote for someone who has a team. Akufo-Addo is the leader of our team,”

Ex-President Kufuor endorsed the feasibility of Nana Addo’s free Senior High School education policy, adding that proceeds from the oil and gas sector will be used to support the initiative.

He stated “Akufo-Addo is saying that give him the mandate to provide free Senior High School for all the children. He didn’t say this in vain; Ghana has oil so he can do it.”
