A GH¢46,000 classroom block for Kunkua inaugurated

Bolgatanga, Jan 14, GNA – A GH¢46,000 six-unit classroom block for Kunkua, near Zuarungu in Bolgatanga Municipality has been inaugurated. Reverend Monsignor Roger Aboteyuure, of Sacred Heart Parish in Bolgatanga dedicated and unveiled a plague in honour of Mr Maurice Browne, an Irish Philanthropist who financed the project. Mr Joachim Akagre, Deputy Director of Education at Bolgatanga Municipal Directorate of Education, commended members of Kunkua community for releasing land to authorities of Saint Martins De Porres Catholic Church for the project. He said government alone could not provide the needed infrastructure for education and expressed appreciation to development partners in education and called on the people to take good care of the project. Mr Daniel Akanyani Abambilla, Upper East Regional Manager of Catholic Education Unit said his outfit was determined to improve teaching and learning and good character formation in the school. He urged the authorities to endeavour to make the school a role model in the municipality. Mr Abambilla said stakeholders in education should play their roles to ensure pupils from the school became responsible citizens and God-fearing with high moral integrity to promote justice, peace and human dignity for mankind.
