A benevolent society presents desks to basic school at Obo

Obo-Kwahu (E/R), May 4, GNA – Members of the Obo Biakoye Fekuw, a benevolent society of Obo citizens, have presented 20 dual desks valued at three million cedis to the Obo Presbyterian Junior Secondary School. Presenting the desks, the president of the society, Mr Edward Adofo Boateng, leader of ‘S.S Adofo’ Concert Party, said the presentation was the society’s social responsibility to support teaching and learning in the school.

He said the society, formed over 60 years ago, had constructed a home economics block and a classroom block for the Presbyterian and Anglican JSS respectively.

Mr Boateng assured that the society would continue to contribute in diverse ways to promote the development of the community. Receiving the desks on behalf of the school, the chief of Obo, Osabarima Yeboah Afari Boagyan II, commended the society for its contributions towards improving educational standard in the town. He urged others to also contribute their quota towards the town’s development.

The Headteacher of the school, Mr Edward Ofori Sefa, thanked the society for the assistance and appealed to other societies to assist the school with teaching and learning aids to improve the standard of education in the community.
