Aspirant thanks delegates

Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 12 GNA- Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, an aspiring parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress in Nkoranza South has expressed gratitude to delegates for giving him the mandate and gave assurance that he would work hard to capture the seat from the New Patriotic Party in the general election.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in a telephone conversation from London, Mr. Agyekum commended his two other contestants Mr. James Opoku-Worae and Mr. Kwaku Poku Boah, for conceding defeat and accepting to throw their weight behind him to achieve victory.

“The task ahead is a challenge to all NDC members in the constituency”, he said and urged supporters and party faithful to remain united and work hard to woo more people to join the party.

Mr. Agyekum asked the party hierarchy to reach to members at the grass roots and rekindle their spirit to avoid being won over by other parties. He called on members of the party to eschew negative practices and attitudes that could divide them as well as cast a slur on the image of the party.

The aspirant said he had arranged for logistics that would enable him to carry out a massive electioneering campaign and expressed optimism that he would wrest power from the incumbent MP. Mr. Isaac Asirifi-Kudom, leader of Mr. Agyekum’s campaign team, commended the party’s delegates for giving the aspirant the nod and urged them to be agents in the communities and work harder to help achieve a landslide victory.
