Meyiwa Busankor JSS scores zero per cent in BECE

Meyiwa Busankor(ER), Oct. 16, GNA – Ms Mary Aniwah, Fanteakwa District Director of Education on Tuesday announced that students of Meyiwa Busankor Junior High Secondary School(JHSS) in the area scored zero per cent in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Speaking at a school appraisal meeting at Meyiwa Busankor, Ms Aniwah expressed concern that despite numerous measures government and stakeholders had instituted to enhance effective teaching and learning, some parents were still shirking their responsibilities in the education of their children.

She urged parents to provide the basic school needs for their children and monitor their studies at home in the evening. During the meeting, parents admitted that their failure to play effective role contributed to the abysmal performance of their children at the BECE.

They said most of them shirked their responsibilities in educating their children. The parents pledged to live up to expectation and co-operate with stakeholders in education to improve the standard of education in the communities.
