Doctor murder charge

A 21-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with stabbing a doctor to death in her car on the driveway of her home.

David Quartey, of Humber Road, Dartford, is accused of murdering Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, who worked at St Thomas’s Hospital in London.

The consultant paediatrician was found by her son outside her home in Teynham Road, Dartford, on August 14.

Quartey was remanded in custody on Saturday by magistrates in Sittingbourne until October 12 where he is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court.

He was arrested by Kent Police last Wednesday and charged last Friday night with Dr Anyetei’s murder.

Dr Anyetei, who was divorced, moved to England from Ghana in 1996, and had worked as a doctor for about 20 years.

She also worked at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup during her career in England.
