SSNIT donates computers to Ho Polytechnic

Ho, May 3, GNA – The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) on Wednesday presented 10 computers valued at 50 million cedis to the Ho Polytechnic as part of its community relations policy.

Mrs Helena Cartey, Volta Regional Manager of the SSNIT, presented the computers to Dr. George Afeti, Principal of the polytechnic. She expressed the hope that the donation would boost the institution’s efforts at turning out high calibre academic and professional men and women to meet the manpower needs of the country.

Mrs Cartey said information technology training had become indispensable in everyday life, which the SSNIT would like to boost by donating computers to selected tertiary institutions. She expressed optimism that the computers would make a little more effort to turn the institute into a first-class technological one.

Dr. Afeti thanked the SSNIT for the gesture and promised that the computers would be put to maximum use. He expressed the hope that the donation was just the beginning of a long, lasting and fruitful relationship between the SSNIT and the polytechnic.
