Women Caucus to continue sensitisation programmes

Takoradi Jan.18,- GNA-Miss Jane Edna Nyame, chairperson of the Women Caucus of the National Association of the Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), on Thursday said the caucus would continue to sensitise women to participate in decision making and governance although the district level elections has taken place.

Speaking to the press in Takoradi, she said sensitisation and women empowerment programmes would continue until appreciable number of women gets to Parliament, district assemblies and management positions. Miss Nyame said it is the constitutional right of women to participate in governance and decision-making and this is what the caucus is sensitisation women about.

She said the caucus has lined up programmes to whip up the enthusiasm and improve the performance of women assembly members. Miss Nyame said in this connection, women assembly members would soon meet in Kumasi to deliberate on the district assembly concept.
