Bishop calls for shared responsibility in the Catholic churches

Sefwi-Wiawso (W/R), Dec 7, GNA – Most Reverend Joseph Francis Kweku Essien, the Catholic Bishop of Sefwi-Wiawso, has called for a shared responsibility in the activities of the Catholic Church in the country.

He said priests and the lay faithful should consider themselves as partners in spiritual, social and moral development of the church. Most Rev Essien said this during the priestly ordination of Rev Fr Patrick Appiah Andoh and Rev Fr Emmanuel Quaicoe at Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western region.

He told the new priests to be dedicated and committed to their vocation and work hard to do away with any behaviour that could bring disgrace to the priesthood and to themselves. Most Rev Essien told the priests to consider themselves as symbols of peace and be fair, free, firm and prepare to say the truth all the time.
