Rainstorm destroys property in Nkoranza

Nkoranza (B/A), Sept 13, GNA – A rainstorm has hit Bonte, a farming community in the Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo and destroyed about 15 houses. Damage caused to property is estimated at more than 200 million cedis.

Mr Richard Asante, Zonal coordinator in-charge of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that the incident occurred last Thursday. He said more than 200 residents had been displaced and were putting up with friends and relatives. Mr Asante called on the district NADMO secretariat to liaise with the regional and national secretariats for relief items for the victims. He urged individuals, non-governmental organizations and associations to come to the id of the disaster victims.
