Artist in court for stealing

Cape Coast, June 05, GNA – A Circuit court at Cape Coast on Monday, granted a 21-year-old artist, Richard Ofori, 10 million cedis bail with a surety to be justified for allegedly breaking into an electrical shop at Cape Coast.

Ofori pleaded not guilty to unlawful entry and stealing and would reappear on Monday, June 19.

Police Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court presided over by Mr Justice Mustapha Logoh that the complainant a businesswoman, discovered the theft when she went to her shop at Kadadwen near Mfantsipim School in the morning of May 25, this year. He said the thieves made away with items valued at 3.5 million cedis and 1.5 million cedis cash she therefore, reported the matter to the police.

Police Chief Iinspector Amonoo, said during investigations a witness who alleged that he saw Ofori emerging from the shop, informed them and Ofori was arrested at his hideout at Assin Kruwa, near Assin Fosu, but nothing was found when his room was searched.
