Ghanaian commended by Commonwealth Secretariat official

Accra, June 1, GNA – A senior official of the Commonwealth Secretariat on Thursday commended Ms Evelyn Asiedu Agyemfra, a Deputy Director of Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP), for her leadership role in promoting the interest of the Secretariat in West Africa.

“As a Point of Contact (POC) for the Secretariat, Ms Agyemfra defied all odds to lead in the organisation of programmes and activities aimed at promoting the Commonwealth, especially the recent West African Sub-Regional Workshop on Public Procurement in Accra,” Mr Kaifala Marah, Adviser, Public Expenditure Management of the Governance and Institutional Development Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat, said at the end of the workshop on Public Procurement.

He urged other POCs to display similar leadership roles. The workshop was on the theme: “Building Bridges on West African Public Procurement Systems.”

Twenty-five people from Ghana, Cameroon, The Gambia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone attended the workshop.
