Unemployed remanded in custody for alleged defilement

Accra, May 31, GNA – A 24 year old unemployed was on Wednesday remanded in Police custody for allegedly defiling an eight-year old girl.

Francis Agozey Neglo alias Alenguame is to reappear on June 9. His plea was not taken.

The facts of the case as presented by Inspector Isaac A.A. Ahor were that the victim lives with her grandmother at ‘A’ Lang-Kwashieman in Accra in the same vicinity with the accused person. Inspector Ahor said sometime in April 2006 the victim was playing outside when Neglo lured her to his house and fingered her. The little girl later informed her sister, who also told the grandmother.

A report was made to the Police and after a medical examination the Neglo was arrested and charged with the offence.
