Don’t use positions for selfish gains-Aikins

Accra, March 26, GNA-Mr Kofi Aikins, former National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has advised executive officers of the Union no t to use their positions to promote their parochial interests.

Rather, he said, they should have the welfare and well-being of members at heart, to ensure the smooth-running of the union. The post of Secretary went to Mr Philip Dogbe, while Mr Kofi Dadzie and Mr Kofi Tinotino were elected as First and Second Trustees respectively.

Mr Aikins commended the out-going executives for a good work done, and urged the incoming ones to continue from where their predecessors left, and strive to take the union to greater heights. Mr Robert Sarbah, Greater-Accra Regional Vice Chairman of GPRTU, urged the new officers to be accountable to those who gave them the mandate.

Mr Sarbah asked drivers to observe road traffic regulations to help reduce road accidents to the barest minimum during the forthcoming Easter festivities.

Mr Edmund Amarteifio, Regional Industrial Relations Officer of GPRTU in-charge of Operations who swore the executives into office reminded them to go about their duties with zeal, dedication and commitment, in order to win the confidence of their colleagues.
