Chief appeals to investors to help open up Wassa-Amenfi

Wassa-Akropong(W/R), March 09, GNA – Kasapreko Kwame Basanyin III, Omahene of Wassa-Amenfi has reiterated his appeal to investors to harness the vast resources within the traditional area for development. He said the traditional council had instituted measures to make investment in agriculture, tourism, bamboo and agro processing more attractive for the mutual benefit of investors and the people.

Kasapreko Basanyin made the appeal at a reception at Wassa-Akropong as part of activities marking this year’s celebration of the “Krokoboman Akwantukesie” festival of the chiefs and people of the area. He said the council would offer the needed assistance including, release of land to potential investors to enhance their activities to reduce poverty among the people.

The Omanhene appealed to the people including non-resident citizens to support the “Kasapreko Education Foundation” to promote higher education for children in the area.

Some organisations and individuals including Samatex, Ghana Telecom, Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo Western Regional Minister and MP for the area and the Wassa-Amenfi district assembly have contributed about 100 million cedis towards the foundation.
