Accra, Oct. 26, GNA – An Accra High Court on Wednesday adjourned to November 3, the case in which two Judges and a Court Registrar, have been accused of conspiring to steal 115.18 million cedis. The money was part of interest that accrued from money paid to the Denu High Court by the Great Lakes Company.
When the case was called for hearing on Wednesday, the Prosecution told the court, presided over by Mrs. Justice Avil Anim-Yeboah that the docket was still with the Public Prosecutions Department of the Ministry of Justice.
The Defence team then asked for a date, to enable the Prosecution to present the docket on the next adjourned date. An adjournment was therefore, granted at the instance of the Defence team.
As a result, there were no formal proceedings on the case. The facts of the case and charges preferred against the accused persons who were present, were therefore, not read.
The accused persons are Justice Edward Mensah Boateng, a High Court Judge now on interdiction, Jacob Dickson Owusu, a Former Senior High Court Registrar in-charge of the Denu Court at the time of the incident and Justice Michael Kwasi Woanyah, a retired High Court Judge, whose last station was Denu.
The Prosecution had earlier told the Court, that the investigator in the case was ill and could not, therefore, send the accused persons from Denu to Court, a situation that led to long adjournments, since July, this year.
