Mr Job Acquah Markin, District Chief Executive for the District, has already signed a memorandum of understanding with the Management of the Company to commence work.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Board of Directors for the Company, Mr Markin expressed the hope that the factory would open up the District to more potential investors and appealed to farmers in the District to embrace the project and cultivate large tracts of cassava farms to feed the factory.

The chairman of the Board, who is also the Managing Director of MUBASMUS Ventures, Mr Musa Ali said the idea of establishing such a venture in the area was to create a life-long employment opportunity for the people.

Mr Ali, therefore, charged the unemployed youth in the District to actively involve themselves in cassava production to enable them to earn a living.

In his inaugural address, Mr Spencer Taylor, Head of Central Region Investment Promotion and Enterprise Development, explained that MUSBASMUS was a cassava processing company, which had specialized in industrial starch production. Mr Taylor said the Company was the first party in the new partnership arrangement; to be duly assisted by the District Assembly and other accredited investors.

According to Mr Taylor, capacity building on business development had already been designed for training of about 400 farmers, saying that plans were also under way to organize an investment forum to woo more investors into the project.
