Over a hundred past executives of the NPP at Asante Mampong yesterday marched to the constituency office of the party to petition the executives on what they described as unfair treatment.
According to the petitioners, the constituency executives have illegally handpicked polling station executives without recourse to laid down party procedure.
Some of the petitioners who spoke to Kapital Radio called on the Regional and national executives to intervene and settle the anomaly. The aggrieved past executives who were made up of polling station executives stated that the move which is being orchestrated by the constituency executives and the member of parliament for the area Hon. Sarkodie is capable of dividing the party and creating a bad image for the NPP
The petitioners came from Yonso, Apakyekewere, Edudwan, Nkwanta Aboantem, PSK and other electoral areas. Others alleged that the MP is doing this in order to get his favorites to enable him secure his post come 2008. When contracted to reach on the grievances the constituency chairman of the party Oheneba Kwasi Duwah who was in the company of the MP stated that his office would not accept any petition because it has concluded all elections.
