Urologists to be given state burial

Accra, Sept. 8, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor has directed that the three prominent Ghanaian Doctors, who died in a tragic road accident on the Kumasi-Accra highway on August 27, should be given state burial. Professor J.M.K. Quartey, Dr Isaac Bentsi and Dr Benjamin Osei-Wiafe, Urologists at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, were returning from an outreach programme at the Sunyani Government Hospital, when the accident happened. All the three doctors died on the spot. Dr George Klufio another doctor on the trip and the driver of the vehicle survived the accident. Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, the President’s Press Secretary, and Presidential Spokesman, told newsmen at the Castle, Osu, on Thursday, that President Kufuor has also decided that Professor Quartey be honoured posthumously with a National Award.
