ADB donates to Akuafo Hall

Legon, Aug 23, GNA – The Agricultural Development Bank on Tuesday donated a cheque for 50 million cedis to the Akuafo Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon.

Mr Alex Owusu-Ansah, the General Manager for Banking, said though the request for the bank’s support came late, the deemed it necessary to assist the hall to renovate its main hall.

He said the bank has assisted the university in several ways and these include helping it to improve conditions in the various halls. The bank contributed to a water project, 200,000 dollars towards the building of the Jubilee Hall, the four-year post-graduate grant worth 20,000 dollars to the College of Health Sciences to cover the training costs of 20 graduates of the College for three years. Receiving the cheque Rev Dr Cephas Omenyo, the Hall Master, thanked the bank for the donation and appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to assist the hall.
