Tsito Sec-Tech holds ‘Leavers’ Day

Tsito, Aug. 17, GNA – Mr Mawusi Aku, Headmaster of Tsito Secondary Technical School has assured parents of its 2004-2005 final year students that the recent stoppage of classes by members of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) would not derail the good results being posted by the school in recent years.

He said management had put in place mechanisms to make up for the time loss as a result of the recent five-week industrial action by NAGRAT, and the late return of students to school.

Mr Aku was speaking during ‘Leavers’ day celebration of the school at the weekend.

He said though the schools overall performance in 2004 dropped to 84 percent from 96 percent in 2003, the number of 2004 finalists entering the Universities had risen to 21 from 17 in the previous year. He said the lack of dormitories for boys on the school premises was affecting supervision and taking away valuable time for evening studies. Mr Aku said the school needed a multi-purpose hall, which it could use as dining hall and other social gatherings, adding that currently, classes had to be suspended to allow students to have their meals in the classrooms.

He said the school had initiated a number of projects to ameliorate the situation and called for government’s support.

In a speech read for him, Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho Municipal Chief Executive, pledged the Municipal Assembly’s assistance to the school. He said the school’s excellent academic record and extra curricula activities indicated that it had a high potential, which should be recognised.
