Okyenhene tours the North

Accra, Aug. 8, GNA – The Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panyin has embarked on a historic five – day tour of the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions in connection with Forestry Plantation Management.

A statement from the Office of the Okyenhene said he would pay courtesy calls on the Kaleo- Na; Paga-Pio, Nandom- Na; Bolga-Naba; Tolon-Na and Kumbugu- Na at their Palaces and also meet with the Northern Regional Minister during the tour, which started on Monday, August 8.

The statement said the Okyenhene would also discuss the development and growth of forestry plantations and the proper management of the environment and strengthen ties with ethnic groupings across the country through close collaboration among traditional rulers. Nana Amoatia Ofori Panyin would also invite the children of Kaleo and Paga to participate in the second annual Okyenhene Mmofra Afahye scheduled for October 2005.
