EU Week Ends

Accra, May 10, GNA – European Union (EU) member states in Ghana last night climaxed this year’s EU Week with a banquet in Accra. Delegates from the EU countries and other high profile personalities who attended the reception were treated to continental and Ghanaian dishes amidst soothing European jazz melodies.

The head of the European Delegation in Ghana, Mr Stefan Frowein proposed the toast.

Member countries of the Union marked the week as means of facilitating the integration of Europe and ensuring the peace and economic stability of member states.

The nine-day week celebration is often observed in May by all member states in their respective countries at different dates. Eight EU member states including Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom took part in the celebrations. The James Town Masquerades exhibited catwalk to grace the night. Six of the participants who took part in a riffle won European designed footballs.
