Speaker is cut out for an anti-Minority agenda – Bagbin

Accra, Feb. 24,GNA – Mr Alban Bagbin, Minority Leader, on Thursday said Mr Ebenezar Sekyi Hughes, Speaker, was anti-Minority, who was cut out to subjugate and suppress the National Democratic Congress group in Parliament.

“The Speaker is living up to the job he is cut out to do and that is to make sure the Minority is subjugated and suppressed,” he said. Mr Bagbin, who was explaining to Journalists why the members of the Minority were sitting down while the Speaker rose to adjourn the House on Thursday, said he was ignored by the Speaker after the Majority Leader had had his say.

He said the Speaker did not protect the interest of the Minority and as such the little privileges of the Minority seemed to elude them.

“When the Speaker was elected, he said he would be fair to all but he does not seem to protect the Minority.

“In every democracy the Majority should have their way while the Minority have their say but we are losing that right.” He said the Minority would fight and not be intimidated or cowed by anyone.

“We shall stand the brutal force of the Majority counting on the small voice of God,” he said.
