Driver fined for abandoning broken down vehicle on a road

Nsawam (E/R), Feb. 23, GNA – The Nsawam Circuit Court has slapped a fine of 800,000 cedis on an articulator truck, Mohammed Seidu who abandoned his broken down vehicle on the Okanta- Suhum road without a warning sign.

Seidu who pleaded guilty to failing to display an advance warning triangle, would be jailed for six months in hard labour in default. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector of Police, James Karbo Domah told the court that the accused abandoned the vehicle on the road on February 17, 2005 and on the next day a tanker loaded with fuel nearly run into it.
