Dismissed apprentice destroyed property worth C35m

Tema, Feb 03, GNA — A dismissed auto mechanic apprentice at Ashaiman who set ablaze one of the cars in the workshop appeared before the Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ charged with causing unlawful damage. The accused, Gerson Aherdor, pleaded guilty and the court remanded him until February 16 to pass sentence on him.

Chief Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the court that Aherdor who has been stealing from the workshop where he worked was in January sacked and warned never to step there again.

But on January 28 this year Aherdor went to the shop and set one of the vehicles undergoing repairs ablaze and took to his heels. The other apprentices arrested him and handed him over to the Police.
