The organization is sponsoring about 30 needy people mostly girls to acquire vocational skills such as dressmaking, hairdressing, shoemaking and computer training.

It has also established a kindergarten school for about 60 pre-school children in the area and has been organizing campaign programmes to educate the people on HIV/AIDS.

The Chairman of the Organization, Pastor Emmanuel Ehuntam, said this at an HIV/AIDS programme at Winneba on Sunday.

Yepemso is a fishing community with a large population and most of the children are not going to school due to poverty.

He said about 70 million cedis have so far been spent on the programme since it started about two years ago. Addressing fishmongers and the fishermen who do migrant fishing, Pastor Ehuntam told them to be careful with their sexual habit to avoid contracting the disease.

Mr Charles Aikins, an HIV/AIDS activist, said the alarming rate at which the HIV/AIDS was spreading calls for the involvement of churches, schools and every Ghanaian in the fight against the pandemic.

Mrs Josephine Danquah, an official of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly, appealed to relatives of people living with HIV/AIDS to show compassion to them.
