Suspected armed robbers kill four at Dome

Accra, Jan. 24, GNA – Four people were last Sunday killed in a house at Dome Pillar “2” by armed men suspected to be armed robbers. The four, included the landlord, Mr Kweku Boateng, a 59 year old retired Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Telecom, a watchman, a young lady named Naomi Donkor, 22 and a caretaker, 22.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jonathan Yakubu, Acting Greater Accra Regional Commander told the Ghana News Agency that the incident happened about 1900 hours on Sunday.

He said the police got a call about 20000 hours that there has been a shooting incident around the area so a team led by himself, ACP Patrick Timbila in-charge of Operation at the CID Headquarters and Chief Superintendent Bright Oduro, Regional Crime Officer was sent to the area.

Mr. Yakubu said when they got to the scene, they saw the four people sprawled on the hall with blood all over the floor with no sign of struggle.

He said when the bedroom was inspected no sign of struggle was noticed apart from the study room, which was opened.

Mr Yakubu said an eyewitness told the police that two people carried out the attack, one armed with a gun and the other with a machete. Meanwhile the police have detained a suspect whilst investigations continue.
