Muslims in Ashanti congratulates President Kufuor

Kumasi, Dec 24, GNA- The Muslim community in Ashanti Region has congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor on his re-election for another four-year term.

Sheikh Imurana Musah, Regional Chief Imam, said the President and the ruling New Patriotic Party deserve congratulations for winning the General Election, which “We Muslims described as generally peaceful, free and fair in the history of Ghana”.

The Chief Imam was speaking in Kumasi on Friday, during a special prayer session to thank Allah for the success of Election 2004. He said the success of the elections should offer Ghanaians the opportunity to overcome the negative effects of electioneering campaign and move forward as one people with a common destiny. Imam Abdul Moumen Harun, Deputy Regional Chief Imam who led the prayers, urged Muslims to continue to pray for God’s guidance for the country.

He called on Ghanaians to love one another and work hard to enhance the total development of the country.
