President donate bus to Kwahu Government Hospital

Atibie, (E/R) Dec. 22, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor, have donated a 36-seater Toyota Coaster bus to the Kwahu Government Hospital to ease the transportation problems facing the staff of the hospital. The donation of the bus followed an appeal made by the authorities of the hospital during the golden jubilee anniversary celebrations in August, this year.

Presenting the bus on behalf of the President, the Eastern Regional Minister, Dr. Francis Osafo-Mensah gave the assurance that the health sector would continue to receive priority attention of the government to ensure efficient health delivery system in the country.

He called on stakeholders to implement the National Health Insurance Scheme to ensure quality, accessible and affordable health care delivery to the people.

The Regional Minister urged the hospital’s authorities to put the vehicle to good use and ensure its regular maintenance to serve a lasting purpose.

Receiving the bus, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Isaac Osabutey, commended President Kufour for fulfilling his promise and gave assurance to put the bus to good use to serve the hospital and the communities.

He appealed for the provision of accommodation for the staff to enhance their performance.
