Ghanaians to experience Positive Change II in real terms – MP-elect

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA- The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP-elect for Effutu, Mr Samuel Owusu-Agyei, on Tuesday said Positive Change Chapter II would set the necessary machinery in motion to fulfil electoral promises within a reasonable time.

He said the victory of the NPP in last Tuesday’s elections was not only for the party and its followers but a triumph for all Ghanaians. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, the MP-elect said the victory was a big challenge, which called for a united approach to ensure rapid socio-economic development.

He said the new government would marshal all shades of opinion in the administration of the country adding, “there will be no vindictiveness or retaliation against political opponents “. Mr Owusu-Agyei appealed to supporters of the various parties to help ensure peace and advised them not to resort to violence and destruction.

He said Ghanaians must congratulate themselves for ensuring a successful election and commended all the political parties for adhering to democratic tenets.

“This is indeed a sign of political maturity and the willingness to work together as one people with a common destiny.”

The MP-elect called on Ghanaians to unite as one people and look into the future with hope.

“We must now together take hold of the challenges that face our country and resolve to solve them in a spirit of unity, of reconciliation, of compassion and understanding. We must move forward into the next century as one nation, one people and one manifest destiny.”
