MP donates sewing machines to Association

Mankranso (Ash), Nov 29, GNA – Mr Stephen Balado Manu, MP for Ahafo-Ano South, has presented three sewing machines valued at 1.5 million cedis to the Ahafo-Ano South District branch of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, at Mankranso. He made the presentation at the passing out for 15 apprentice dressmakers after the completion of a three-year training.

The MP urged them to exhibit a high sense of professionalism and acknowledged the contribution of seamstresses and dressmakers to the society.

Mr Balado Manu, who is the NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency, commended the parents and proprietors of the shops for supporting the apprentices during their training.

Mr Peter Amoah, Mankranso Zonal Chairman of the Association, called on them to avoid apathy, indiscipline, arrogance and other acts that would dent the image of the Association.

He appealed for government assistance to enable members of the Association to expand and improve their businesses and living standards. Nana Yaw Acheampong, Akyeamehene of the Hiahene, asked them to be God-fearing to ensure success in life.
