Government names nominees to University Councils

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA – The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on Friday named Government nominees to reconstituted University Councils.

A statement signed by Dan Osman Mwin, Public Relations Officer for the Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education, said Government nominees for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology are Nana Otuo Siribuo II, Member of the Council of State is Chairman with Mr Albert Essien, Managing Director of Ecobank; Mr Awuku Nyarko, Managing Director of Aluworks and Professor Florence Dolphyne of the University of Ghana as members.

Those for the University of Education, Winneba are: Mr Jude Bucknor, Managing Director of J. Kofi Bucknor and Associates Chairman while Mrs Matilda Obeng Ansong, Former Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank, the Reverend Dr Livingstone Buama, Moderator of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana and Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso, University of Ghana, Legon are members.

University of Cape Coast has Dr Charles Mensa, Resident Director of VALCO as Chairman, Mrs Elizabeth Villars, Managing Director of Camelot Ghana Limited, Mr George Donkor, Managing Director, Georgefields Ltd and the Reverend Dr Asante Antwi, Methodist Church of Ghana are members.

The University of Development Studies has Mr Kofi Gyimah, Chief Executive, National Investment Bank as Chairman with Dr Philip Gyau-Boakye, Water Resources Institute, Dr Mumuni Dakubu, University of Ghana and Mrs Cecilia Don-Achebe Agbevey, Ghana Institution of Engineers as members.
