Stop using President’s name -Office of Prez

Accra, Nov. 16, GNA – The Office of the President on Tuesday asked institutions and organizations to desist from using the President’s name in advertising programmes without specific authorization.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Press Secretary to the President said; “the Office has observed that the President’s name has been used in advertising a ‘Presidential Debate’ or the ‘Forum’ without the President’s agreement.

It said for the avoidance of any doubt the President had not agreed to and would not take part in either the debate or forum. The statement said “to date none of the organizers of the events have sought audience with the President; an action that common courtesy demands, to discuss or request his presence or get his concurrence to appear”.
