Four alleged armed robbers re-arrested after being freed by court

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), Nov 3, GNA- Four alleged armed robbers who were discharged by a circuit court at Dormaa Ahenkro on Tuesday were re-arrested by the police.

The police arrested the four immediately after the presiding judge, Mr P. K. Richardson had discharged them on the advice of the Attorney General’s Department.

The four were Addai Kyeremeh Jonnie, Kwame Braimah, Williams Opoku Addo and Bossman Adolf Cyril, alias Lucifer. They were on trial for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery case at Dormaa Ahenkro. When the case came up for hearing, the prosecutor, Police Inspector Eric Tetteh tendered a document from the Attorney General Office ordering the case to be quashed and the accused persons discharged for lack of evidence.

The police however said the re-arrest would help them in fresh investigations into the case.
