Mankranso (Ash), Oct 30, GNA – The Mankranso magistrate court on has sentenced a 48-year-old farmer to six months imprisonment for impersonation.
Baba Abass pleaded guilty to the charge.
Detective Inspector Kofi Owusu told the court that on October 4 Abass introduced himself to Baba Zakari, a livestock farmer and the rest of the community, that he was a veterinary officer.
He said Zakari sent the accused to his house to take a look at his livestock where Abass injected 16 sheep of the complainant. Detective Inspector Owusu said two hours later, two of the sheep died while the rest had serious diarrhoea.
Zakari reported the case to the Tepa police who together with Mr Eric Attah Aboagye, a veterinary officer, went to Kotei-Nkwanta and after examining the dead sheep attributed the death of the sheep to overdose of the injection. The accused was therefore arrested.
