Aliko Dangote will join President John Dramani Mahama to open the Invest Ghana Summit 2026 in Accra, as Ghana seeks to attract investment into manufacturing, regional trade and major infrastructure projects.
The two-day summit will take place on Monday, November 16, and Tuesday, November 17, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City.
It is being hosted by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), which was established this year under Act 1173 to replace the former investment centre. The forum is being organised with the Ministries of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Foreign Affairs, and Finance.
The Bank of Ghana, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the Ghana Free Zones Authority, the National AfCFTA Coordination Office, and the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme are also involved.
Dangote, Africa’s best-known industrialist, will take part in the opening session in a discussion focused on regional value chains and industrial expansion. In September, he commended Mahama’s administration for stabilising the economy and called for visa-free travel across Africa.
Mahama will follow with a keynote address setting out the government’s production and export priorities ahead of the 2027–2030 ‘New Economy’ programme.
The summit’s theme is: “Investing in Ghana’s New Economy: Building a Productive Economy that Creates Value and Competes Globally”.
GIPA Chief Executive Officer Simon Madjie said Dangote’s involvement would strengthen debate around manufacturing and trade across the region.
“By connecting investors directly with bankable projects and decision-makers, we are creating a platform that turns investor interest into tangible economic outcomes for Ghana,” Madjie said.
Organisers say the event will also feature an on-site Investor Facilitation Hub, where 19 public agencies will work with participants on business registration, tax, immigration, environmental permits and other regulatory approvals.
An AfCFTA Investment Breakfast will form part of the programme, alongside deal rooms showcasing projects seeking funding in energy, transport, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.
The projects on display will include the US$1.46 billion Buipe Solar and Battery Storage Project in the Savannah Region. The development is structured under 24H Parks Energy PLC and is intended to supply inland ports and agro-industrial parks.
Other projects listed for potential investment are the Eastern Railway Line, the Accra-Tema Motorway expansion, the Volo-Battor Agro-Industrial Park, the Volta Lake Transport System, the Legon Pharmaceutical Innovation Park, and the Tamale Air Cargo and Logistics Hub.
