Aryeh Stands by Comments on Mumuni?s Car Crash

NDC General Secretary, Dr Josiah Aryeh is insisting he suspects foul play in the accident involving his party?s vice Presidential ticket, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni.

Dr. Aryeh told Joy FM that he suspected the NDC?s political opponents had a hand in the accident just a few hours after the car crash.

His comments just attracted a lot of scorn from sections of the public who regarded his statements as politically incorrect.

Although raising questions about circumstances surrounding the accident, Dr. Aryeh?s failure to provide evidence to back his claims opened him to wide criticisms with reports suggesting that he?d also upset party big wigs.

But speaking to JOY News Dr. Aryeh maintained his earlier stance.

?I have every reason to express my personnel opinions on the accident. Alhaji is yet to speak but can?t I express my views if I think the circumstances were bizarre. I stand by those comments that the NPP administration had a hand in the car crash?? he said.

Alhaji Mumuni is still responding to treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after surgery last week on his thigh, which was fractured when his car somersaulted.

His party executives say he is yet to disclose circumstances surrounding the early morning accident.

But police investigators have already dismissed any notions of foul play.
