Newly elected NPP Director of Communications Dennis Miracles Aboagye has rejected criticism of Kojo Bamba’s appointment as the party’s First Vice Chairman, saying his experience and intellect are qualities rarely found in the NDC.
Aboagye was responding to comments from NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande, who questioned the decision to elect Bamba and linked his previous association with political vigilantism to what he described as a mindset of violence.
Speaking on GhanAkoma on Akoma 87.9 FM, Aboagye dismissed those concerns and praised Bamba’s political ability.

“Chairman Bamba’s experience and intellect [are] rare in the NDC,” he said.
Bamba was elected First Vice Chairman at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 3, receiving 3,116 votes.
Gbande had labelled the decision “backward politics” and raised concerns over Bamba’s past association with the Delta Force, citing the group in relation to wider worries about political violence.
Aboagye also criticised Gbande personally over his response to the election.
“Mustapha Gbande cannot occupy any position in the NPP, he is just afraid and that has influenced his long talk,” he said.
The NPP communications director also defended the wider make-up of the party’s newly elected national leadership, arguing that its members bring different qualities that can work together.
“NPP has elected leaders who will complement each other,” Aboagye said.
