Majority Leader urges Christians to pray for Ghana

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA – The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader in Parliament, Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong has made a passionate appeal to all Ghanaians and Christians in particular to pray earnestly for the nation.

According to him, the government and the people of Ghana, count on “your prayers in order to move this nation forward” particularly at a time such as this.

Mr Owusu Adjapong made the call after participating in the on-going Bicentenary Bible Reading on Wednesday in Accra.

He read Proverbs chapter six and his favourite Bible verse was “Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me” (John 14:1)

Later, Professor Stephen Adei, Rector and Director-General of GIMPA and his wife, Georgina Adei, also participated in the Bible marathon. Prof. Adei, who read I Kings chapter 22 in Asante Twi, said he and his wife were privileged to part-take in the public Bible reading exercise. The favourite Bible verse that he recorded was “for nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).

The teachers and students of the Accra Ridge Church School also took their turns in reading the Scriptures.

The Bible Marathon, which involves the public reading of the Bible and the hand copying of favourite Bible verses, is being organised by the Bible Society of Ghana in commemoration of the Bicentenary of the Bible Society Movement.
