President of the National House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso traditional area, OSENKESIE AKANKAFO OGYEAHOHO YAW GYEBI II, joined the cleanup exercise as part of the National Sanitation Day held in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality championed by the Assembly.
Speaking after the programme, Ogyeahoho in a statement called all and sundry including chiefs to participate in next month’s event.
According to him, there were some shortfalls but he is optimistic that the next event will see improvement stressing that publication was too late, every town in the municipality should involve in the exercise next time, Nana stated adding that they will plan on how to deal with the non-participants.
Hon. BRIGHT ASAMOAH BREFO, Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency indicated that this exercise is civic responsibility which everyone should be part of hoping that various groups would be invited via official letters.
The MP revealed that there will be punishment for recalcitrance and they will make sure that next month, even pragya will not be allowed to move until 12 noon.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. SEBASTIAN OBENG, noted that, leaders of the various fan clubs would be involved in meetings ahead of the next event in order to inform their members for massive involvement.
He suggested that, the smaller towns within the municipality should not wait till the first Saturday, instead, clean their communities every week.
