Ghanaian midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah was once again the difference-maker for Nottingham Forest Women as she scored a spectacular goal in their 4-1 victory over Portsmouth on Sunday, October 5.
The 30-year-old Black Queens star delivered a moment of brilliance in the 80th minute, unleashing a stunning long-range strike from near the centre circle that left the Portsmouth goalkeeper helpless and sent the City Ground crowd into raptures.
The goal gave Forest the lead for the first time in the match after Portsmouth had taken an early advantage in the 12th minute. Forest drew level shortly after the break before Boye-Hlorkah’s strike turned the game around. Two late goals sealed a dominant win for the home side.
It was Boye-Hlorkah’s second goal of the season in just five appearances, further underlining her importance to the Forest side as they continue their push for promotion to the Women’s Super League.
With her confidence growing and form peaking, Boye-Hlorkah will be hoping to carry this momentum into international duty with the Black Queens when duty calls.
