The Ghana Football Association’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has cautioned the Black Stars against complacency as they prepare for their World Cup qualifying match against the Central African Republic (CAR).
Speaking to Asempa FM, Asante Twum described the upcoming fixture as “a tricky one,” urging the team to learn from past lapses, particularly the setback experienced in Chad.
“The game against the Central African Republic will be a tricky one, but we don’t want to experience what happened in Chad again,” he said. “We must do everything possible to win this game.”
Ghana currently sit in a commanding position in Group I, with just two matches remaining in their quest to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A win against CAR would not only secure their standing but also set up a potential celebratory finale against Comoros.
“We must get this done to make the final game against Comoros a crowning moment for the team and the entire country,” Asante Twum added.
The Black Stars are expected to resume training this week, with optimism high among fans and officials alike that Ghana can finish the qualifiers strongly and seal their spot on football’s biggest stage.
