Police in Tema have arrested four individuals after discovering 315 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp concealed inside the tyres of a truck.
The suspects — Nura Sali, 44, Pius Chukwuma, 49, Mustapha Umar, 18, and Abdulai Amayau, 23 — were apprehended during a police operation at the Tema Industrial Area. The truck, bearing registration number GN 7291-16, was intercepted and searched, leading to the discovery of the narcotics.
According to a police statement, the suspects were arraigned before the Ashaiman Circuit Court on Thursday, September 11, 2025, where they were remanded into custody. They are scheduled to reappear in court on September 30, 2025.
The truck used to transport the suspected narcotics has been impounded on the orders of the court as investigations continue.
