Cleanliness and a sanitized environment improve health quality – Health Director

The Dormaa Central Municipal Health Director, Mr. Daniel Konka, has emphasized the significance of maintaining a clean and sanitized environment to avert ailments caused by unhygienic conditions and to enhance overall health and well-being.

During an address to the press at a clean-up exercise conducted at the Twafour Royal Palace in Kofiasua, as well as within the entire Kofiasua community, organized by the Dormaa Central Municipal Health Directorate in collaboration with the Dormaa Twafourhene, Mr. Daniel Konka highlighted the direct benefits of such initiatives in improving health quality. Additionally, he noted that the physical activities involved in these clean-up exercises contribute to enhanced physical fitness, thereby reducing the likelihood of contracting communicable diseases.

He further explained that the Health Directorate has scheduled monthly clean-up exercises in support of the Dormaahene’s clean-up campaign, with the aim of intensifying sanitation efforts in Dormaa Ahenkro and its neighboring communities.

Barima Twumasi Bekoe II, Dormaa Twafourhene and Chief of Kofiasua, highlighted the significance of sanitation and commended the Dormaahene’s initiative to organize clean-up campaigns to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the Dormaa traditional areas. He revealed his commitment to supporting the Dormaahene’s sanitation campaign by establishing a task force within the Kofiasua community to conduct monthly clean-up activities, ensuring the community remains clean.

He also encouraged other Chiefs within the Dormaa Traditional Council to enhance their sanitation efforts by forming task forces to conduct regular and effective sanitation exercises, thereby promoting cleanliness and fostering hygienic and healthy environments.
