Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Didi Dramani, has called for perspective after guiding his side to victory in the Democracy Cup, stressing that long-term development is just as important as immediate results.
The Phobians defeated city rivals Great Olympics 1-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium to lift the Democracy trophy. But despite the silverware, Dramani insists his focus goes beyond celebrations.
“I think winning is good, but I also think that on a more fair point, we have to think about how to progress, improving on the small parts of the game so we can develop our game model and philosophy,” Dramani said after the match.
The experienced coach added that while structure and philosophy remain crucial, the hunger to battle on the pitch must never be lost. “The anger to compete is more paramount,” he stressed.
For Dramani, the Democracy Cup triumph is not just about bragging rights, but a building block in his broader vision to make Hearts of Oak a formidable and consistent force in Ghanaian and African football.
