Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Ako Gunn, has issued a strong warning to party executives and communicators, urging them to remain humble and disciplined as the party gains increasing public support.
Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Ako Gunn cautioned that reckless behavior and a “know-it-all” attitude by some party members could erode the goodwill the NDC is currently enjoying among Ghanaians.
“I’ll plead with them; our haste to join some conversations is not helpful. It’s different when it’s coming from people outside the party, but if it’s from an executive, they’ll blame the President; meanwhile, he knows nothing about it,” he stated.
He stressed that the NDC must not take the growing support from the public for granted and warned that arrogance or miscommunication could cost the party dearly in the upcoming elections.
“The goodwill of Ghanaians towards the NDC is growing by the day. But the way some of us are behaving it can affect the goodwill we are enjoying and that includes some of our communicators. This attitude doesn’t guarantee a second term. We need to work hard to avoid going back early to opposition. Let’s keep our humility and prove our critics wrong,” he advised.
